Covid 19 - Reopening

Flatting the curve

For almost six weeks Californians have been home. After six weeks, many of you guys are now past your regular grooming schedules. This in my opinion is considered interfering with ‘provided routine care’. Not specifically listed under California’s “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers order', I am going to reopen tentatively. I am not a big box store advocating for only myself, or a veterinarian who provides “life-sustaining” services, but I do provide “regular and routine care”. Something I would like to continue to provide to existing clients. Some counties have started to amend local shelter in place orders to include mobile grooming, like Kern, Riverside, and others; I am watching these orders.

During these dynamic times, I have chosen a soft reopening, in a limited capacity starting May. I will begin booking existing clients only; please be aware that space is limited due to shortened availability and new procedures. If You Have a monthly scheduled groom, I ask we keep your 2020 scheduled groom schedule. I ask that you help me flatten the curve while Grooming Cohens provide you with regular routine pet care. Our soft reopen is tentative and relies on Pet Parents’ open communication and our local Covid 19 situation. Please complete the Covid 19 Update Waiver to acknowledge and agree to these terms prior to your appointment.

New Clients, I look forward to meeting you and now have a waiting list. I often come into and work within your home, and rely on the relationship I have built sometimes over years. I must trust that my clients have also been socially distancing and will follow CDC social distancing and my own Covid 19 guidelines while I am grooming.

I have a call to action for clients, I have written my representatives, asking that grooming be considered essential pet care. Alternatively, I shared a ‘pinned’ petition on my Facebook Page that I would encourage all clients to look at sign, and share.
