Covid 19 - Social Distancing and home grooming tips

This happens to be our third email campaign, and with Covid19 I am hoping to update client profiles!

I have no idea when the business will begin but being able to communicate with you will help us get going when we are able, so let’s connect on social media. Most San Diegan’s are into our second week of Social Distancing here in North County, (some our third). I wanted to take a moment to reach out to you, my amazing Pet Parents. If you are receiving this email because you are either a current or former client of Grooming Cohens, or at one point signed up to become one, and remain on our client waiting list. As of March 16th, San Diego County Health Department has deemed Pet Grooming a "non-essential" business during this time and has mandated we ceased operations until April 7th. This ordinance can change any day and I am hopeful to get back to providing service with safety measures in place as soon as allowed.

As a pet lover like yourselves, I worry about the discomfort of your pet and I am aware the longer this goes the greater the possibility of issues arising for your animals. For all pets it is recommended they receive grooming care a minimum of every 4-8 weeks to check for the following:

  • Dirty ears

  • Overgrown nails

  • Matted fur, or tangles

  • Check the underside of paw pads

  • Pests such as fleas

  • Skin redness, or irritation

  • Build up of crusty eye boogers (Remove these with a baby wipe)

Checking for these things while your groomer is unavailable will prevent any serious issues from arising and will keep your pet feeling good until their next professional visit. Some pets may need hygiene care as often as every few days, while lower maintenance coats will do just fine with a monthly close look-over. Don't be intimidated! Your pets are used to grooming and with some patience on your part, this can be an opportunity to bond with your furry friend in a new way. I want to do my best to support you and will be available by phone and online to answer any questions. Here are my favorite comb and Paw Brother slicker brush.

Once I have reopened, Your pet will be a bit scruffier than we are all used to and I am aware of everyone’s needs and have records of our last visits. I will ask at that time you please be patient and flexible as I work to get to everyone in and I will want to help as many pets in need as I can. I want you to know I am wishing you and your loved ones good health and will miss our regular visit. Please give your pets love from me, and extra love to our very senior fur babies that I will especially miss. In the meantime try these helpful Green Tea Pet Wipes while we are between grooms.
